Medical Examiner Identifies 3 Mpls. Homicide Victims
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has released the identities of three people who were shot to death in two separate incidents last Friday.
Gonzalo Galvan has been charged with murdering his wife and 15-year-old stepdaughter last Friday afternoon. Investigators said that they were about to leave him.
On Tuesday, authorities identified the victims as 48-year-old Eugenia Rae Tallman and 15-year-old Victoria Alvarez.
A relative told WCCO that Galvan had a history of abusing Tallman. Galvan has no criminal record, but that's something experts say is not unusual in abuse cases.
Investigators said that Galvan spared the life of his 7-year-old son, who witnessed the shootings.
In a separate incident, an 18-year-old was shot to death in North Minneapolis. The incident happened just after 10 p.m. on the 1800 block of Newton Avenue North last Friday.
Officers found one man who had been fatally shot in the chest, and another man who had been shot in the foot. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center.
The medical examiner identified the man killed as Mark Antonio Profit. He lived only a few blocks away from where he was shot.
