MDH: Fatal Overdoses Outpace Fatal Crashes In Minn.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Overdosing is becoming a bigger killer in Minnesota than car crashes.

The Minnesota Department of Health says 507 people died from heroin or prescription painkiller overdoses last year.

That compares with 374 who died in car accidents.

Nearly 5,000 people in Minnesota have died from drug overdoses since 2000.
