Manny's Steakhouse Named One Of The World's Best
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Manny's Steakhouse is one of the best places in the world to gnaw into a juicy steak, according to Men's Journal.
The magazine placed Manny's in its "10 Best Steakhouses In The World" list, which includes steakhouses in cities like New York City, London, Paris and Buenos Aires.
Manny's Steakhouse first opened in Minneapolis in 1988.
"Manny's takes the cake," customer Jim Johnson, from St. Louis Park, said.
They moved to their current location at The W Minneapolis - The Foshay on 9th Street and Marquette Avenue seven years ago.
"The food is always good," customer Kathy Wiggins-Benson, from San Diego, said. "You're never disappointed at all."
Famous faces who've made a stop for steak line Manny's walls.
"From presidents, athletes," Manny's general manager David Wilson said. "Derek Jeter was just here on his tour."
The accolades from Men's Journal comes as no surprise to Manny's customers.
"When we've talked to people at work that come in from other cities, big cities -- New York, LA -- they say that Manny's holds up everywhere they go," Johnson said.
One of the restaurant's signature features is "The Meat Cart." The menu also includes a 50 oz. bone-in rib eye that's deemed "part meal, part weapon."
"The portions are amazing," Sharon Hanson, from St. Louis Park, said. "I like to look at their specials, they change every week."
Still customers say it's the service that sets Manny's apart from competition.
"It's like a little family," Hanson said.
Wilson says the staff takes tremendous pride in what they do.
"They really engage the guests and are part of the magic," Wilson said.
Others steakhouses on the list include Peter Luger in Brooklyn and Hawksmoor in London.
