Police: 26-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured By Eagan Squad

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating after a 26-year-old man was struck and injured by a Eagan police squad.

On Thursday at 12:28 a.m., an Eagan police officer radioed that he was involved in an accident involving a pedestrian on Yankee Doodle Road near Coachman Road, and requested paramedics.

The victim, identified as Anthony Pollard of South St. Paul, was then taken to Regions Hospital where his condition is believed to be serious, but non-life threatening.

The state patrol says alcohol was detected in the vicitm's system and that he was walking in the right lane of traffic.

The officer, identified as Brian Rundquist of Eagan, was in a marked patrol car on routine patrol and was not taking any police action.
