Man Sentenced To 4 Years In Bicyclist's Death
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 50-year-old man will serve 4 years in prison for drunkenly striking and killing a bicyclist with his van last February.
On Jan. 6, 2015, John Iverson was sentenced to 48 months – with 338 days credit for time served – at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for criminal vehicular homicide.
Witnesses say Iverson sped west down Franklin Avenue in south Minneapolis on the night of Feb. 2, 2014, when he suddenly swerved towards the curb, hit 26-year-old Marcus Nalls off of his bike and then ran him over.
Iverson continued driving down the block until his van stopped after hitting a dumpster.
