Man Sentenced To 30 Years In 'Brutal' Murder Of Duluth Woman
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 64-year-old man has pleaded guilty to and been sentenced in the murder of a Duluth woman in her apartment last year, the St. Louis County Attorney's Office announced Friday.
William James Holisky II was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison in connection to the stabbing death of Lisa Isham, whose body was found on May 30, 2015. Holisky pleaded guilty to second-degree murder back in July 8.
Authorities say the victim was determined to be dead for more than a week prior to her discovery. DNA recovered from the weapon that murdered her was matched to Holisky.
At the sentencing, State District Court Judge Mark Munger said that it was the most brutal murder he had dealt with in his 18 years on the bench, saying that Holisky has a "dark heart" and was not redeemable. He added: "My hope is that you never leave the Commissioner of Corrections."
Assistant St. Louis County Attorneys Jessica Fralich and Vicky Wanta prosecuted the case.
