Man Pleads Not Guilty To Illegal Gambling Charges
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Trial has been set for a Minnesota man accused of running an illegal gambling operation in North Dakota.
Gerald Greenfield pleaded not guilty in federal court Thursday to three counts, including conducting sports betting business and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
Authorities say the 68-year-old Greenfield, of Bloomington, Minnesota, ran an illegal sports betting business for four years, beginning in 2007. He allegedly received about $10 million each year in wagers and made an annual profit of between $500,000 and $600,000.
Greenfield's lawyer could not be reached for comment.
Trial is scheduled for Aug. 5 in Fargo.
