Man Pleads Guilty In 19 Bar Shooting, Gas Station Stabbing
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 23-year-old Minneapolis man has pleaded guilty to both a shooting that injured two people at a bar, and also to an unrelated stabbing incident.
According to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, Devin Michael Glen Strouss pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree assault on Monday.
Two people were hurt when Strouss fired shots at the 19 Bar near downtown Minneapolis on Oct. 15. The bullets shot through the double steel door of the bar, which is located just off Nicollet Avenue on 15th Street.
Witnesses said they saw that Strouss was refused service that night, because he was drunk. The bullets flew in after he'd been forced outside by the bar's bouncers.
He was released from jail on a $2,500 bond, instead of the original bail that was set at $150,000.
On Monday, Strouss also pleaded guilty to stabbing someone on New Year's Day at a gas station in St. Louis Park.
"I know this case caused the Loring Park neighborhood a great deal of concern and I personally visited a business group there to answer their questions," Hennepin County Attorney Michael Freeman said.
