Man, infant dead following Sartell apartment fire

SARTELL, Minn. -- Caleb Clark, 24, and Hazel Clark, 4 mos., were found dead after an apartment fire in Sartell on Jan. 19.

According to authorities, the fire broke out on the 300 Block of 11th Avenue East at about 8 p.m. The building had been evacuated.

Investigators say Caleb Clark died of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hazel Clark's death is being investigated as a homicide and her cause of death is pending further testing. The two had recently moved to Sartell from Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The State Fire Marshal determined that the fire had been intentionally set within Clark's apartment. Most of the damage was contained to that unit.

The fire remains under investigation, but investigators believe there is no threat to the public.
