Man, 72, In Critical Condition After Shooting In South Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 72-year-old man is fighting for his life Monday morning following a shooting in south Minneapolis.
The Minneapolis Police Department says the shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. on the 2900 block of East Franklin Avenue, in the city's Seward neighborhood.
First responders found a man with a gunshot wound. Emergency crews brought the victim to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
In an update late Monday morning, police said that the preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting occurred during a possible robbery attempt outside a business.
So far, no arrests have been made. The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, 5-feet-10-inches to 6-feet tall, slim build, wearing a mask, black sweater with a white square on the back with a hood, and gray pants.
The shooting is under investigation.
