Man Dead, Toddler Seriously Injured In Stearns Co. Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating after a crash left one man dead and a toddler seriously injured on a Stearns County road early Tuesday morning.

According to the state patrol, the fatal crash occurred on Highway 71 and 320th Street at around 2:38 a.m. between a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo and 2017 Freightliner Cascadia, which is a semi.

The driver of the Chevy, a 28-year-old Elrosa, Minnesota man, was killed. His son, who is 2 years old, was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the semi, a 44-year-old Nebraska man, suffered non-life threatening injuries. There was a 14-year-old passenger, also of Nebraska. The passenger's condition has not been documented at this time.
