ME: Body Of Missing Osakis Man Found In Overturned Car Off I-94

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The State Patrol says a missing Osakis man was found dead in an overturned car off Interstate 94 Monday in central Minnesota.

Alan Thomas, 47, had been missing since Aug. 4. He was last seen driving home from the metro, a trip that would have taken him along westbound Interstate 94. The BCA said he drove a gray 2008 Scion.

On Tuesday, MnDOT officials spotted a car, a 2008 Toyota Scion, near milepost 121 in Todd County. The vehicle was upside-down in a ravine.

The State Patrol says the driver appears to have been going west on the interstate when he veered off road, rolled and landed in the ravine.

The Midwest Medical Examiner identified the body as that of Thomas.

Officials believe he had been in the car for a long time before being found.
