Man Convicted In 2012 North Minneapolis Murder
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 20-year-old man was convicted of murder Friday in the 2012 fatal shooting of another man as he was riding in a car in north Minneapolis.
After about five hours of deliberation, Jaylin Deshawn Dubose was convicted of second-degree murder in the June 5, 2012 death of 25-year-old Parrish Gray. According to court documents, Gray was the passenger in a car that night when a man, later identified as Dubose, fired shots into the car at the intersection of 18th and Irving Avenues North. Gray died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
After the incident, Dubose fled to Chicago and was arrested 15 months later. He will be sentenced on Aug. 26, and prosecutors will be seeking the maximum of 15 years.
