Man Charged In Murders Of New Richmond Mother & Daughter

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Wisconsin man faces five criminal charges in the death of a mother and her daughter.

The badly beaten bodies of Courtney Bradford and her 10-year-old daughter, Jasmine, were discovered in their New Richmond home earlier this month.

Police say Cristian Daniel Nunez started a fire to cover his crimes. He was arrested near the Mexican border in El Paso, Texas.

Prosecutors say Nunez-Ortega used Bradford's stolen credit card and used her SUV to make his getaway.

Nunez is being held on $500,000 bail in St. Croix County Jail.
