Man Charged In Burnsville Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A South St. Paul man has been charged with five felony counts in a Burnsville shooting that happened earlier this month.
According to the complaint, the Feb. 7 incident happened near a SuperAmerica along Riverwoods Drive. Officers at the scene found one man who had been shot and a woman who had "minor abrasions."
They said that the dispute happened amid a drug deal, and followed a series of drug sales wherein the victims claimed they had been ripped off.
They said this time, they had given the drug dealers $25 but weren't given the drugs they were buying. The woman said she jumped on one of the dealers, and at that point she had her hair pulled and was hit on the face. At the same time, she said the two other drug dealers started assaulting the man.
A short time later, as the alleged dealers' vehicle was driving from the scene, one shot at the man, striking him in the leg.
Investigators believe the gun was fired by John Mark Brown Jr., 24. He has been charged with drive-by shooting, first-degree aggravated robbery, second-degree assault, selling narcotics, and owning a firearm despite being ineligible for prior charges.
