Lynx Take Liston, Bussie In WNBA Draft

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Lynx made four selections in the WNBA Draft on Monday with two picks in each round.

In the first round, the Lynx selected Duke guard Tricia Liston with the 12th overall pick. Three picks later, the Lynx selected Virginia center Asya Bussie. Minnesota finished the night selecting Vanderbilt guard Christina Foggie 24th overall and Asia Taylor with the 36th overall selection.

Liston led Duke in scoring with more than 17 points per game and made 87 3-pointers on the season. She finished her college career as Duke's all-time leader in three-point field goals made and set an ACC record, shooting 93.1 percent from the free-throw line in league play.

Bussie, a 6-4 center, averaged 12.9 points and nearly eight rebounds per game this year after missing most of the 2012-13 season due to injury. She helped lead West Virginia to a 30-5 record this season.

The Lynx are looking for their second straight WNBA title this summer and third in four years. They'll play a home preseason game on May 5 before opening their season at the Washington Mystics on May 16. Their home opener is May 18 against the Connecticut Sun.
