Love Your Melon Sold To National Brand Group

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A popular pom hat brand created by Minnesota college kids is now owned by a national company.

Two University of St. Thomas students launched Love Your Melon in 2012.

It has since donated more than $9 million to fight pediatric cancer, and given more than 235,000 beanies to kids fighting cancer.

The final deal was not disclosed, but Win Brands says it raised $40 million in advance of buying the company.
