Police arrest suspect in Lakeville "domestic situation," shelter-in-place order lifted

Suspect arrested after shelter-in-place in Lakeville

LAKEVILLE, Minn. — Lakeville police say a suspect is in custody following a "domestic situation" on Thursday morning near Brackett's Crossing Country Club.

Officers responded to a domestic situation happening in a moving vehicle around 9:35 a.m. The vehicle eventually stopped at the country club.

A shelter-in-place order was briefly in effect in the 11 a.m. hour for area residents while law enforcement combed the golf course and its buildings for the suspect, who was believed to be armed.

Workers and customers were evacuated from the building as a safety precaution, police say.

Thanks to a tip, officers were able to find the suspect, a 27-year-old man, on the 18000 block of Lansford Path around 12:30 p.m.

Police did not find a firearm on the suspect and he was taken into custody without incident.
