Mom Convicted Of Hiding Lakeville Girls From Dad

HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) — A Lakeville mother who was accused of concealing her two daughters from their dad for more than two years has been found guilty.

A jury in Dakota County convicted Sandra Grazzini-Rucki on Thursday of six counts of deprivation of custodial rights.

Prosecutors have said the 50-year-old Grazzini-Rucki and a friend drove the teens to a ranch near Herman in 2013 to hide them during a bitter divorce case. The sisters were found in 2015 and have moved back in with their father.

Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said after the verdict that Grazzini-Rucki's actions led to significant trauma for her daughters and impacted the rest of the family.

Grazzini-Rucki had been free during trial but was taken into custody after the verdict. She's scheduled to be sentenced in September.
