Lakeville Firefighters Show Support For Girl With Cancer
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The gear that Lakeville Firefighters wear isn't the only thing about them that now looks the same.
The firefighters shaved their heads to show solidarity for one of their own. The daughter of one of the firefighters was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Amanda Miskimen, 20, shaved her head before beginning chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Her dad asked fellow firefighters if they wanted to join in. The group held an event Monday night to show their support. Amanda said she's humbled by how many people turned out to support her.
