Lake Street Closed After Hit-And-Run Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man was taken to the hospital after being hit by a driver near East Lake Street and 28th Avenue South in Minneapolis.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Monday.
Police said the driver continued on after hitting the man, a 23-year-old who lives in the area. An officer saw the incident, and police stopped a white Cadillac sedan about four blocks from away. Kaleb Conway, 26, is currently being held at Hennepin County Jail.
The victim, who suffered head injuries and broken bones, was listed in serious condition at Hennepin County Medical Center. His name was not immediately released.
Lake Street was closed as investigators processed the scene.
Police said preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol may have played a factor in the incident. Also, it appeared the victim may have been crossing the street mid-block, outside of a crosswalk.
