Kindergartner, First-Grader Raise $1,300 To Fight Homelessness
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- When a little girl from Bloomington started asking questions about the people on the streets holding signs, her mom explained they were homeless. That inspired Tiki to do something to help.
Her family made bags of trail mix to keep in their car, but she wanted to do more. Her friend Archie wanted to help too.
Soon after posting their mission on a Go Fund Me page, the soon-to-be kindergartner and first-grader had raised more than $1,300.
The kids passed out the bags and gave out hugs at the Salvation Army Wednesday morning. Since they raised more money than they needed, Tiki and Archie say they'll use the extra donations to buy school supplies for homeless kids.
