Man Pleads Guilty To Fatal Crash, Burglary Committed While High, Naked
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Rosemount man has pleaded guilty Wednesday in connection to a fatal crash and subsequent burglary in Lakeville last month.
The Dakota County Attorney's Office says Eric Wesley Kasprzyk, 40, caused a multi-vehicle crash on the morning of April 1 on 160th Street.
The criminal complaint says Kasprzyk ran a red light and broadsided 45-year-old Osah Phetsarath, of Lakeville. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Kasprzyk then fled the area, stripped off his clothes and eventually broke into an Apple Valley townhome.
The people who live in the townhome say Kasprzyk went and hid in a hallway closet. They tried to barricade him inside until police arrived, but Kasprzyk pushed his way out and locked their exterior doors.
The complaint says he also physically tried to stop one of the residents from opening a door for police when they arrived.
Investigators say Kasprzyk was under the influence of drugs during the crash and aftermath.
He pleaded guilty to one count of criminal vehicular homicide and a count of first-degree burglary.
His sentencing date has been set for August 9.
