January Trial Date Set For Barway Collins' Father
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A trial date has been set for next January for the man accused of killing his 10-year-old son last March.
In a brief hearing, Pierre Collins said he was willing to waive his right to a speedy trial in order to give his lawyers time to prepare to defend him against charges he murdered his son Barway Collins.
Pierre Collins is accused of killing his son for insurance money and then dumping his bound body in the Mississippi River on March 18.
Since Barway Collins' death, WCCO-TV reported that Pierre Collins has been investigated for the abuse of three of his other children, two years before his son's death.
Pierre Collins' next court date will be on October 19. His trial has been set for January 4, 2015.
