Memorial Held For Jahmari Rice, Teen Killed Outside Richfield School
RICHFIELD, Minn. (WCCO) -- Family and friends came together in Richfield Wednesday to say goodbye to 15-year-old Jahmari Rice.
He was shot and killed on the sidewalk outside the front doors of his school, South Education Center, last Tuesday. Two other students were injured in the shooting, one critically.
His father, Cortez Rice, shared an emotional message about gun violence at the memorial held at Hope Church.

"Fighting for these babies, man, we are losing our babies. Our babies should not have to go through this, man, we shouldn't have to go through this, having to do this right here. They deserve every last bit of us, man," Cortez Rice said.
Rice had just transferred to the school. Investigators say there was an argument, and they believe that's when 19-year-old Alfredo Rosario Solis and 18-year-old Fernando Valdez Alvarez started shooting.
Both men are in jail right now, facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
