Hidden Gun Tunnel, Stolen Property Found During Isanti Co. Raid

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two men face charges after authorities raided an Isanti County residence Monday, finding stolen property, more than 30 guns and methamphetamine on the premises.

The Isanti County Sheriff's Office says a search warrant was served in Bradford Township with the assistance of the East Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force.

An officer spotted a crawl space behind a flight of stairs during the search, which had a false floor. Underneath was a tunnel where authorities found 10 guns; two were later confirmed to be stolen, and two were untraceable.

Investigators needed three days to sort through all the stolen goods found on the property.

Five people were arrested, and two still remain in custody: homeowner Marcus Jeffrey Lucas, 61, and 45-year-old Fredrik Keith Kalumaina Koerte, from Minneapolis.

Lucas has been charged with 25 felony counts: 21 for being a felon in possession of a firearm, one for third-degree possession of a narcotic and three for receiving stolen property.

Koerte was charged with two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of felony fifth-degree drug possession.

The sheriff's office says the stolen property was from 15 burglaries. Of the 32 firearms seized, four were confirmed to be stolen.
