State Patrol: 1 Dead In Hwy 169 Crash In Bloomington

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol says one person is dead after two-vehicle crash on Highway 169 in Bloomington Wednesday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, around 6:20 p.m. a Camaro, driven by 28-year-old Travis John Krautkremer, was decelerating on the right shoulder of southbound Highway 169, just south of Interstate 494.

At the same time Krautkremer was decelerating, a Ford F-350 Super Duty, driven by 33-year-old Christopher Michael Wendt, was approaching behind the Camaro.

Wendt veered onto the right shoulder, but made contact with the rear of the Camaro and continued to drive over the car.

Wendt overturned and came to rest on the roof in the right ditch.

The Camaro came to rest facing northbound in the right ditch. Krautkremer was declared dead on the scene.

Wendt suffered non-life threatening injuries.

It is unknown if alcohol was involved in the crash.

The State Patrol is currently investigating.
