Horse Rider Injured After Being Thrown From Mount

CENTER CITY, Minn. (AP) — Chisago County authorities say a horse rider who was thrown from her mount after it was spooked by another horse has been hospitalized in serious condition.

The sheriff's office says two other riders on separate horses were also thrown from their horses, suffering minor injuries.

Authorities say the two women and a girl were riding Saturday about 12:30 p.m. in Lent Township. All three horses were spooked by another horse running in a nearby field.

The three horses began to run out of control for about 180 yards. Eventually all three riders took a tumble.

The woman who was most seriously injured was a 53-year-old from Stacy.
