Hoffner Gets 4-Year Extension At MSU-Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota State University has reached an agreement with football coach Todd Hoffner on a four-year contract extension.

The university announced late Monday that the deal will begin next season, effective July 1, 2016, and pay Hoffner an annual salary of $126,397.

Hoffner has a 57-15 record in six seasons running the program in Mankato, with four NCAA Division II playoff appearances and three NSIC championships. The Mavericks are 9-1 this year, entering the final regular season game against Wayne State. They're ranked sixth this week in the national AFCA coaches poll.

Hoffner returned to the MSU sideline in 2014 after a two-year hiatus from the job, following his full exoneration on child pornography charges after school officials found family videos of his naked children on a university-issued phone.
