Hiker Dies After Fall From Dangerous Red Wing Path
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A hiker has died after falling from a dangerous hiking path in Red Wing.
Police say the man was hiking on the north trail of Barn Bluff when he fell and got stranded just before 1 p.m.
Seconds after firefighters arrived, they say the man slipped off the steep incline and hit the ground. The rescuers were not able to save him.
Police say the path has been closed to the public for the past two years because of danger of falls.
