Driver strikes pedestrian on Highway 52 NB in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. — A driver struck a pedestrian on Highway 52 in St. Paul Thursday afternoon, causing a temporary closure.

The pedestrian, a 52-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. He was transported to Regions Hospital.

It happened on the northbound side of the highway at Eaton Street just before 3 p.m. The man was walking across the highway when the driver, a 58-year-old woman, hit him, the patrol said.

The northbound lanes were closed while authorities cleared the scene, but reopened shortly before 4:15 p.m.
