Eden Prairie Woman Killed In Highway 5 Vehicle Fire
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 66-year-old woman died Wednesday after a vehicle fire on Highway 5 in Eden Prairie, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The State Patrol responded at about 12:40 p.m. to the area of eastbound Highway 5 and Mitchell Road on a report of a vehicle fire. Authorities located the driver outside of the vehicle, and both the woman and the vehicle were on fire.
She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she later died. She was identified by authorities as Susan Jean Clark of Eden Prairie.
The Eden Prairie Fire Department is investigating the incident as a fire-related death. The eastbound lanes of Highway 5 were closed in the area for several hours while authorities investigated the incident. The highway reopened at about 5:30 p.m.
