Highs Hit 90s In Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Summer-like weather has hit Minnesota, with highs reaching the 90s in southern and central parts of the state.
The National Weather Service says Appleton in western Minnesota peaked at 99 degrees Tuesday. Other highs include 97 in St. James and Ortonville and 95 in Fairmont and Luverne.
Some thunderstorms were popping up across southwestern, western and central Minnesota. In western Stearns County, a wind gust of 64 mph was reported late Tuesday afternoon.
Highs will cool to the mid 70s in northern Minnesota to the low 80s in the south on Wednesday.
Southern Minnesota could see heavy rains on Thursday.
