Deadly crash with bicyclist temporarily closes Green Line in St. Paul

Bicyclist killed in crash with light rail train in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Authorities say a crash between a light rail train and a bicyclist in St. Paul Wednesday evening proved fatal.

The crash occurred at the Capitol/Rice Street Station of the Green Line, according to the Metro Transit Police Department.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner later identified the bicyclist as 54-year-old Brian Keith Moore of St. Paul. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

Metro Transit said buses temporarily replaced trains between the Hamline Avenue and Robert Street stations in both directions. Shortly before 7 p.m., Green Line service was restored between the 10th Street and Hamline Avenue stations.

The investigation is ongoing.
