Gophers Zahui B. Taken By Tulsa In WNBA Draft
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- After a historic sophomore season with the University of Minnesota women's basketball team, Amanda Zahui B. is headed to the WNBA.
Zahui was taken with the No. 2 overall pick in Thursday's WNBA Draft by the Tulsa Shock. She averaged 18.8 points, 12.9 rebounds and 4.1 blocks this season. Zahui B. was fourth in the nation in rebounding and helped guide the Gophers to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2009.
She was a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten pick and was named the Big Ten Player of the Year by the media.
Her first WNBA game could be in familiar territory. The Minnesota Lynx host the Shock on Friday, June 7 at Target Center.
