Gophers Women Hold Off Penn State, 75-64

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Amanda Zahui B. collected her second triple-double of the season Wednesday night to lead the University of Minnesota women's basketball team to a 75-64 win over Penn State at Williams Arena.

Zahui B. scored 16 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and had 12 blocked shots in the victory. It snapped a two-game Big Ten losing streak in the process. She's the first player in Gophers history to have to triple-doubles in her career, and the 12 blocked shots broke her program record of 10 last season. It also tied a Big Ten single-game record.

Shae Kelley added 18 points, Mikayla Bailey scored 17 points and Carlie Wagner had 12 points in the win.

The Gophers (17-4, 6-3) led 34-29 at the half, but Penn State went on an 18-3 run to take a 49-37 lead with 12 minutes left. Minnesota answered with a 13-0 run and led for the final eight minutes of the game.

Minnesota travels to Northwestern on Saturday.
