Gophers' Shae Kelley Named Big Ten Player Of The Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After a big week leading the Gophers women's basketball team to a pair of wins, University of Minnesota senior Shae Kelley was named the Big Ten's Player of the Week.

Kelley averaged 28 points, 11 rebounds, 2.5 points and 1.5 blocks per game as the Gophers beat Wisconsin and Penn State to improve to 20-6 on the season. Against the Badgers, she scored a career-high 33 points, including 13 made free throws, and grabbed 14 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season.

Kelley collected her second 20-point game of the week Sunday with 23 points in a win at Penn State. It's her third career Big Ten Player of the Week honor. She won the award back on Jan. 19.

She's not the only Minnesota player to receive league honors. Carlie Wagner was named the Big Ten's Freshman of the Week after averaging 17 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in the two wins. Wagner scored 17 points in the win over Wisconsin and had 17 more in the win at Penn State.
