Gophers' Rau Named Big Ten Second Star Of The Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After collecting three points in a weekend split at the Mariucci Classic, senior Kyle Rau of the Gophers men's hockey team was named the Big Ten's Second Star of the Week.

It's the second time Rau has earned an honor from the Big Ten Conference. He had an assist in Friday night's 3-2 loss to Merrimack and added two more points in Saturday night's 3-2 overtime win over RIT.

Rau, an Eden Prairie native, had an assist and scored the game-winner in overtime of Saturday's win. He's tied for the team lead with 20 points, and 20 of his 54 career goals have been game-winners. He's the active leading scorer in the NCAA for game-winning goals.

The Gophers are also 75-11-7 for his career when he scores at least one point and 37-3 when he has a multi-point game.
