Gophers' Kloos Named Big Ten Second Star Of The Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After his first career hat trick on Saturday, Justin Kloos of the University of Minnesota hockey team was named the Second Star of the Week by the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday.

Kloos, of Lakeville, netted a hat trick against St. Cloud State to lead the Gophers to a 4-3 victory in overtime after Minnesota lost to the Huskies in St. Cloud 4-1 on Friday night. Kloos scored twice in the second period, and netted the game-winning goal in overtime.

Kloos led the Gophers last season with 16 goals as a freshman. He's currently tied for the league lead in scoring with five goals.

Minnesota is back in action Friday and Sunday, hosting Notre Dame at Mariucci Arena. Friday is a 7 p.m. game, and Sunday's game is at 4 p.m.
