Gopher Football To Have 4 Night Games In 2015

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota announced Thursday that the Gophers football team will have four night games in the 2015 season that will be nationally televised.

The prime time games will be highlighted by Minnesota's season opener against TCU on Thursday, Sept. 3, at TCF Bank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN. The Gophers lost at TCU last year, and the Horned Frogs are expected to be ranked in the top-5 in nationally for the season-opener.

Minnesota will also have three Big Ten Conference games in primetime on national television. The Gophers will host Michigan for the Little Brown Jug at 7 p.m. on Halloween night.

Minnesota also has two primetime games on the road. The Gophers will face Ohio State at 6 or 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 in Columbus, Ohio. The Gophers also travel to Iowa Nov. 14 for a night game on Big Ten Network.

Minnesota is coming off its second straight eight-win season under Jerry Kill, who was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year last season. The Gophers' appearance in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl was its first New Year's Day bowl game in 50 years.
