Gopher Basketball, Hockey To Play In 2018 'Super Saturday' In New York
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Big Ten announced Wednesday that the University of Minnesota will be a part of a basketball and hockey doubleheader at Madison Square Garden in 2018.
The Gopher men's basketball team will face Ohio State on Jan. 20, 2018. That same day, the Gopher men's hockey team will face Michigan State. Both games will be played at Madison Square Garden, with enough time in between to change the playing surfaces.
It's part of a series called "Super Saturday" with events including other Big Ten programs set for 2016, 2017 and 2019. Madison Square Garden will also be the host site for the Big Ten men's basketball tournament, starting in 2018.
