Gas Prices Continue To Slide Downward In Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Gas prices are continuing to spiral downward. Minnesota drivers are paying an average $1.73 a gallon to fill up this Tuesday, which 15 cents per gallon down from where prices were a month ago.

Many gas stations in the Twin Cities are even cheaper than the statewide average, with prices spotted as low as $1.59.

The national average is $1.88. Oil is trading at around $30 a barrel, its lowest price in ten years. Experts credit high supply and decreased demand from China.

Prices could go even lower following Iran announced plans to boost oil production by a half a million barrels a day.

Iran is determined to retake its market share, which was lost when economic sanctions were imposed several years back.
