Former Viking Delivers Sermon As Superhero
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Comic Book fans had a very interesting experience in a church on Sunday.
Former Vikings player Anthony Bass is now a pastor. Sunday, he delivered a sermon inspired by "The Avengers" at Endurance Church in Brooklyn Park. He dressed as Captain America.
People who attended the service were encouraged to dress as their own favorite superheroes. The first 140 people received tickets for the new Avengers movie.
"It is our hope today that as we have family fun, there's a reason to hope. We live in a time when people are opposed to some ideals, but some ideals can be good," Bass said.
Pastor Bass works to make the Bible relatable to people of all backgrounds. He says the four-part Avenger series has many parallels to Biblical principles.
