Flood Threat Lessening In Southern Wisconsin

PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) — The flood threat is subsiding in south-central Wisconsin.

The Columbia County Emergency Management Office says the Wisconsin River crested at 19.62 feet early Sunday. Officials say that is major flood stage and has resulted in widespread flooding in Columbia County, but the river is now slowly receding.

Some roads remain closed in the Portage area because of high water.
