Fla. Shopper Sues Target For Emotional Distress
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Over the past few years, Target has teamed up with trendy designers to offer up a more affordable version. These designer collaborations have created long lines outside Target stores.
The Jason Wu collection was a big hit back in February, but it also brought out some nasty behavior from shoppers.
When the line launched Kevin Wills and his now ex-wife bought just about every item from the Target store in Miami, Fla., according to the Miami New Times. In all, they rang up $5,300 worth of clothing purchases.
Other shoppers, hoping to get their hands on the pieces, did not react well, calling Wills names, trying to run them over with their shopping carts, and posting videos of him on YouTube.
According to reports, Wills did the very same thing in the past, buying up all the items during the Missoni collection in 2011. He claims he resells the items for charity.
Now Wills, who is also known as DJ Midas, is suing Target for emotional distress and negligence.
Target has since revised their policy, and now reportedly institutes a limit on how many pieces from designer collections a single buyer can purchase.
