First Lady Michelle Obama To Campaign In Minnesota
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — First lady Michelle Obama has plans to campaign in Minnesota next week for Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton and Sen. Al Franken.
The Minnesota DFL Party announced that Mrs. Obama would appear at a Minneapolis get-out-the-vote rally on Tuesday. Further details weren't released.
Both parties are working hard to mobilize their political bases in the campaign's waning weeks.
But having an Obama on the Minnesota campaign trail also gives Republicans another chance to make the case that the incumbents are too close to an administration with ailing approval ratings. President Barack Obama was in Minnesota in June
Franken and Dayton both lead their races in independent polling, but Republicans are banking on a national mood and turnout trends favoring them.
