Fire Destroys Lakeview Behavioral Health Office In Grand Rapids
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A fire destroyed a mental health clinic in Grand Rapids Saturday evening.
Police received a report at about 8:57 p.m. of smoke in the basement at Lakeview Behavioral Health's downtown office.
According to Grand Rapids Fire Chief Travis Cole, "two businesses are considered a total loss. A third, Wells Fargo Bank, received smoke and minor water damage."
The business posted an update on their Facebook page informing the public they are safe, yet the building is a "complete loss."
"This was a difficult fire to fight because of the age of the buildings," Cole said. "We are very grateful that there were no injuries and for the help we received from surrounding fire departments."
The Grand Rapids Fire Department and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
