Fire Destroys Eagan Home
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- No one was hurt after a big house fire in the south metro.
Police said the fire broke out on the 1500 block of Skyline Trail in Eagan sometime after 8 p.m. Smoke could be seen as far as six miles away.
A man and two kids in the home smelled smoke and got out safely.
Upon arrival, crews found the home, attic and garage engulfed in flames. Police said the heat from the flames was so intense that it started breaking windows on a neighbor's home.
It took crews from Eagan, Mendota Heights and Burnsville 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
It appears the fire started in the garage, but it's not clear how. The home is a total loss.
