Father, Son Charged In Connection With Roseville Pawn Shop Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A father and son have been charged in connection with the robbery of a pawn shop in Roseville, Minn. early last week.

According to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office, 51-year-old Marvin Spencer and 25-year-old Marvin Lee Clinton Spencer Jr. have been charged with aggravated robbery and attempted intentional second degree murder.

The incident occurred at a Pawn America on the 1700 block of Rice Street on Monday, July 21.

According to Roseville police, officers responded to a call of a shooting at the pawn shop. The suspects had fired multiple rounds of gun shots, threatened employees with the gun and stole jewelry from the store.

According to the attorney's office, a citizen from Doraville, Ga., contacted local police with  the whereabouts of the suspects.

The citizen heard two men bragging in a hotel about a jewelry store robbery they had committed in Minnesota.

He then researched the men's story online and found news of the robbery.

According to officials, the citizen reportedly gave local police information on the father and sons whereabouts, their license plate number and their hotel room number.

Roseville officers were able to arrest Spencer Jr. with the help of the Dekalb County Sheriff's Department in Ga.

According to officials, Spencer Jr. was released from custody during the investigation.

Both of the Spencer's whereabouts are currently unknown.
