Faribault Man, 77, Dies After Hit By Car While Walking Dog

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A 77-year-old Faribault man has died after he was hit by a car while walking his dog.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says Harvey Hanson was at the intersection of 2nd Avenue Northwest and 5th Street Northwest in Faribault on Thursday evening when he was hit.

He died early Friday at North Memorial Medical Center.

Faribault police tell the Star Tribune that a 79-year-old Faribault woman was driving northbound on 2nd Avenue when she hit Hanson as he was crossing the street. Hanson's dog ran home after the crash.

Hanson is a lifelong Faribault resident.
